Hey, I'm Alina S. I'm a high school rower, I started rowing in fall of 2010 as a 7th grader, now I'm on my club's varsity team. Though I've been a starboard for 2 years as 5-seat in our middle school 8, I had to switch to port after a shoulder injury in winter season 2012. Now that I'm healed, I can row port, starboard, and scull! Usually, I'm stroke seat but there are tons of exceptions to that. I row for Row New York, a non-profit club team in New York City where girls (we have another boathouse in uptown Manhattan with boys and girls) get together from different schools in different parts of the city and have fun doing the one thing that connects them all: rowing.
Some things I like other than rowing are video games, getting decent grades, and sleep. Sleep is a big one, I don't exactly have time for any of it because of rowing.
I have a habit of naming things as well. My fish is named Pequot, after the 4+ that I earned club state champ title of 2013 with. I also like naming my oars. My favorite is my sweep port oar named Camile Everett and that's only because that's the plate on it
